The American Chemical Society (ACS) is a non-profit organization chartered by the U.S. Congress. With more than 161,000 members, ACS is the world's largest scientific society and a global leader in providing access to chemistry-related research through its multiple databases, peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences. Its main offices are in Washington, D.C., and Columbus, Ohio.


Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) is a nonprofit trade organization of 1,300 executives in beauty and related industries. CEW's mission is to develop the career contacts, knowledge, and skills of its members through a dynamic agenda of events.


The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) prepares students for professional excellence in design, fashion, and business by providing the premier educational experience that fosters creativity, career focus, and a global perspective. FIT offers the Master’s in Professional Studies, Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management, the only program of its kind.

Founded in 1909, the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association (FEMA) is the oldest and largest national association of the flavor industry and is engaged principally in activities which ensure a substantial supply of safe flavor materials. FEMA furthers the business interests of its members through a sound scientific program designed to promote the safe use of flavors. Through effective representation of its members, FEMA fosters a global environment in which the flavor industry can create, innovate and compete.


Formed in 1979 as the successor organization to the Essential Oil Association, FMA represents the interests of more than 60 companies engaged in the manufacture and sale of fragrances and fragrance raw materials in the United States. The Association's strengths are demonstrated in its ability to successfully advocate for industry principles, foster valuable networking opportunities, and effectively communicate critical developments to the industry.


The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) was founded in 1973 to represent the collective interests of the fragrance industry worldwide. Its main purpose is to ensure the safety of fragrance materials through a dedicated science program. This focus on fragrance safety helps both the consumer and the environment.

The Monell Center is the world's only independent, non-profit scientific institute dedicated to interdisciplinary basic research on the senses of taste and smell.


The Natural Resources Stewardship Circle (NRSC) is a non-profit organization launched in October 2008 in Grasse, France by its first members who drafted a declaration of intent. This founding text  was based on the principles of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity, the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the Global Compact, and the International Labour Organization. The seminal document foretold the establishment of a shared best practices guideline.


The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials, Inc. (RIFM) was formally chartered as a non-profit, international organization on April 12, 1966. Members represent companies supplying materials to the fragrance, toiletry, household products, and cosmetic industries. RIFM generates, evaluates and distributes scientific data on the safety assessment of fragrance raw materials found in perfumes, cosmetics, shampoos, creams, detergents, air fresheners, candles and other personal and household products.  

The Sense of Smell Institute is the research and education division of The Fragrance Foundation, the non-profit, educational arm of the international fragrance industry. A Scientific Advisory Committee headed by the Scientific Affairs Director advises the organization's staff on all scientific matters such as current research in the field of olfaction, website content, review of White Papers and liaisons with other scientific and academic organizations.


The American Cleaning Institute (ACI), formerly The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA), is the Home of the U.S. Cleaning Products Industry®, representing producers of household, industrial, and institutional cleaning products, their ingredients and finished packaging; oleochemical producers; and chemical distributors to the cleaning product industry.  


Colipa is the European Trade Association representing the interests of the cosmetic, toiletry and perfumery industry. Its full membership consists of 25 active national associations of the EU Member States and beyond, 18 major international companies, 5 supporting or corresponding members. All in all, Colipa represents more than 2000 companies in the 25 EU Members States.

The European Flavour Association was established in 1961 as "Bureau de Liaison des Syndicats Européens des Produits Aromatiques". In 1991 however, it changed its name and was then known as the European Flavour and Fragrance Association (EFFA). The founders were several national associations of the flavour and fragrance industry from countries of the European Community. The statutory purpose and function of EFFA is to represent the interests of the Member Associations and the global flavour and fragrance industry in all relevant forums--EU administrators and their scientific advisors, politicians, customer associations, the authorities, and professional bodies of the EU. This representation comprises, also through its affiliation to the International Organization of the Flavor Industry (IOFI) and the International Fragrance Association (IFRA), 95% of the total worldwide market.


The Fashion Group International (FGI) is a global, non-profit, professional organization with 5000 members in the fashion industry including apparel, accessories, beauty and home. The FGI mission is to be the pre-eminent authority on the business of fashion and design and to help its members become more effective in their careers. To do this, FGI provides insights on major trends in person, online and in print; access to business professionals and a gateway to the influence fashion plays in the marketplace.


The Fragrance Foundation is the nonprofit, educational arm of the international fragrance industry. The purpose is to inspire a keener interest in the positive role of the sense of smell and fragrance in peoples lives globally.

The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) is a nonprofit scientific society. Its individual members are professionals engaged in food science, food technology, and related professions in industry, academia, and government. IFT's mission is to advance the science of food, and its long-range vision is to ensure a safe and abundant food supply, contributing to healthier people everywhere.


The International Organization of the Flavor Industry (IOFI) is an NGO/NPO association of regional and national associations of the flavor industry, founded in Switzerland in 1969, consisting of the National Associations of Flavor Manufacturers of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
