Philippe Horvath

Senior Lead Scientist, Technical Fellow, IFF Health & Biosciences

Philippe Horvath is a Senior Lead Scientist and Technical Fellow at IFF Health & Biosciences. He graduated from Université Louis-Pasteur in Strasbourg, France in 1996 and earned his Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2000. Philippe joined Rhodia Food’s R&D center in Dangé-Saint-Romain in 2000 and has continued through the company’s evolution from Rhodia to Danisco, DuPont, and now IFF.

Since 2002, much of his research has focused on CRISPR technology, first as a tool for strain differentiation and tracking, and later as a bacterial immune system with broad industrial, biotechnological, and medical applications. Philippe is widely recognized as one of the pioneers in CRISPR research and innovation.
