Enzymes in their natural form had already been used in granular detergent formulas for some time, but when added to liquid formulas, they\u2019d become unstable, quickly degrading and losing their catalytic activity.<\/p>\n<p data-animate=\"fade-up\" data-animation-delay=\"600\">To engineer a better protease, Genencor\u2019s scientists set out to tweak the protein\u2019s structure to improve its function.<\/p>\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"m-block  gt gb style-v1 simple-cards-v4 cards-colored media-cover alt-hover l-content-1\"  style='background-color: #ffffff;'>\n\n\t\n\t\n\t<div class=\"m-block__container container\"\n\t\tstyle=\";
