As consumers\u2019 focus on our planet&#8217;s health grows so does the demand for alternative proteins. However in a recent consumer survey conducted by IFF 70% of consumers are moving past imitations and familiar food formats in plant-based foods.<\/p>\n<p>For plant-based to take off into mainstream there needs to be an expansion of the category to deliver delicious and nutritious eating experiences for each and every meal. It\u2019s not just about replicating standards like burgers without meat and milkshakes without milk\u2014alternative proteins need to go from everyday to exciting. That\u2019s because consumers aren\u2019t just looking to avoid meat or dairy. They\u2019re expecting great eating experiences that create memorable moments. This provides a lot of opportunities to provide consumers with more options as well as for the industry to develop exciting new innovations for plant-based food.<\/p>\n<p>We partnered with CBS News\u2019 Global Thought Leaders series to share how insights-led innovation can fuel the potential of plant-based foods nourishing people and planet.
