Regional Application Development Lead
Dr. Ritu Bhalla is a diversified researcher and Regional Application Leader at the IFF Application Center, Hyderabad. She leads a team developing and launching biotech solutions for the ethanol and carbohydrate processing industries, supporting customers across Asia and ANZ.
With extensive experience in industrial biotechnology, Dr. Bhalla has led multidisciplinary R&D projects spanning fermentation, enzymes, biologicals, and agriculture. Her work includes biocatalyst development, process optimization, and technology scale-up for biofuels and other applications. Previously, she served as Technical Leader and Research Scientist in IFF’s Industrial Biotech group (2007–2015) and conducted postdoctoral research at Washington State University.
Dr. Bhalla holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Delhi and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and patents, with active participation in international conferences and expert panels.
