Sustainability Benefits

Our portfolio of textile finishing enzymes is aligned with the main societal trend that drives industries to go beyond “zero-impact” – we apply regenerative principles to drive positive change as a core business strategy, while extending the definition of natural for a new generation amid a global environmental emergency.

IFF’s innovative cellulase enzymes work effectively under both neutral pH conditions. This means textile mills can combine biofinishing and dyeing steps for a shorter and less energy-intensive process.

How many rinses do you need to remove residual hydrogen peroxide from your bleaching step? IFF’s enzymes can reduce the number of rinse steps and break down hydrogen peroxide into pure water and oxygen.

IFF’s enzymes are extraordinarily stable. Because IFF’s catalase is effective in bleach clean up even at high temperatures, it can be added at the first rinsing step without the need for further temperature reduction.

Enzymes are naturally biodegradable proteins. IFF’s enzymes are made via fermentation using raw materials like soy, wheat and corn.
