With over two decades at IFF, Dr. Mucio Furtado, PhD, a Technical Fellow, Senior Lead Application Specialist has become a cornerstone of dairy innovation across Latin America. As a seasoned application specialist, he works closely with cheese manufacturers to develop new technologies and improve product quality, safety, and performance. His role is twofold: on one hand, he provides hands-on technical support and drives advancements in cheese applications; on the other, he serves as a Fellow, inspiring the next generation of scientists and amplifying IFF’s presence in the industry.

Mucio finds the greatest reward in seeing customer satisfaction—especially when a solution he’s helped develop leads to better outcomes in product quality and food safety. His work is not just about science; it’s about building trust and delivering meaningful impact.

Outside the lab, Mucio is a proud grandfather to five young granddaughters. His dedication to family mirrors his commitment to his work—thoughtful, present, and deeply engaged.
