To manage the GHG emissions and operating costs associated with the combustion of fossil fuels for energy at our sites, we employ an energy management strategy grounded in data and focused on efficiency measures and a commitment to using renewable energy.
IFF strategically targets renewable energy opportunities as a critical lever to achieving long-term climate and renewable electricity targets. As a member of RE100 — a corporate leadership initiative of businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity — we are working toward procuring 100% of our electricity needs from renewable sources by 2030. As of the end of 2022, IFF had procured or produced 256,169 MWh of renewable electricity for our operations, covering approximately 14.2% of total electricity needs.
