Strategic Supplier Partnerships to Source Sustainable Products

Our risk assessment methodology drives our policies, programs, and commitments for specific supply chains. We have a 2030 goal to promote regenerative ecosystems and achieve zero deforestation for strategic raw material supply chains. Three of our most important strategic materials include soy, palm and seaweed.

UP TO 70 TIMES LOWER CARBON FOOTPRINT

If every US consumer replaced beef with soy protein only once a week for a year, we’d save up to 50 million tons of CO2 – the equivalent to taking 11 million cars off the roads every year.

40 TIMES LESS WATER

Soy protein requires much less water for its product compared to beef. That means consuming soy protein instead of beef once a week is equivalent to saving 21 showers worth of water per year, per person.

150 TIMES LESS LAND USE

Less land means less pressure on natural resources, forests, and biodiversity. Soy protein is a unique viable plant-based source of high-quality complete protein.

Key Criteria For Sourcing Responsibly

IFF’s Seaweeds Responsible Sourcing Program (SRSP) is guided by a comprehensive set of “Environmental & Social Good Practices for Seaweed Harvesting” that include a variety of key sustainability criteria from the protection of coral reefs and limiting shading on sea grasses to worker safety.
